Ingredients
- 1 large handful (10β12 fresh sprigs) of fresh thyme
- 2 cups (500 ml) water
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
- 1β2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 small slice of fresh ginger (optional)
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the fresh thyme thoroughly under cool running water to remove any dirt.
- Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
- Add the thyme sprigs and, if desired, the fresh ginger.
- Reduce the heat and let the herbs simmer gently for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and allow the tea to steep for another 5β10 minutes for a stronger flavor.
- Strain the tea into your favorite mug.
- Stir in lemon juice and honey if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
